ORDINARY: Discovering the 'EXTRA'

My life is pretty ordinary!

I get up, stretch, work, clean, wash laundry, try to motivate my teenagers, cook, eat, drink coffee, answer messages, fold laundry, clean some more, cook again, read, study, sleep....etc

It is not obviously all in the same order with exactly the same content every day, but life has a general rhythm and roll.

There is nothing remarkable in the mundane or predictable!

Extraordinary is beneath the seen

Here is the mistake!

Extraordinary is not an exterior measurement. It is not circumstance orientated.

It is not found in 'to do' lists, goals or achievement markers to elevate or set us apart.

You wont find it in my skills, or capabilities.

It is not the results of my exams or a career climb.

Extraordinary is not my titles or roles.

It is not any certificates or trophies or things I have helped pioneer or build.

There will always be someone who achieves or accomplishes more, someone who does it better or smarter. Someone who takes it further and makes another milestone.

Those things are all temporary and passing.

Extraordinary is beneath the seen!

Extra is holy power at work in, through and despite my weaknesses.

The marvelous, exceptional, incomparable ONE who changes the value of all things.

I can line up all my zeros thinking they amount to something.

It doesn't matter how many you put in a row: they still equal nothing!

But if you line them up behind the ONE; the value is immediately multiplied!

The extraordinary formula is bringing my ordinary zero and it somehow counting because GOD is the full value!

He is not the ' add on'.

He is the excessive and extravagant transforming multiplier; so much more than 'extra'!

This is the little boy who brings his lunch box. All that he has. Bringing simplicity and open hands. Beside the ONE his ordinary snacks feed 5,000!

It is not a partnership.

It is not even an offering.

He didnt go to Jesus expecting miracles.

He just moved in closer with what he was holding.

Discovering an extraordinary life is only with the ONE!

Every moment contains HIM (although He can never be contained!!!)

He is not separated from the mundane or uneventful. He is in the everyday; seemingly meaningless becomes meaningful. The things I count as wasted or nothing. Hr is not worried about productivity or outcomes. HE IS 'I AM'. Present and full in the now.

Fully in the boring and repetative. In the automatic routines I don't even think about or consider worth mentioning or remembering.

It all counts when I move closer!
