RECALIBRATION: Altering Alignment

'RECALIBRATION'

A friend shared this one simple word with me yesterday as I fumbled trying to express my jumbled inner workings right now....

It directly articulates a process of change and realignment;

Changed lifestyle schedule,

Changed priorities,

Changed expectations,

Changed motivations,

Changed connections!

A global shift, impacting my single heart.

I am forced to think & evaluate.

Measuring the distance between what I thought life was and my self deception.

Agendas are gone.

Plans are dissolved.

Meaning is returning...

This is the adjustment process!

Where standard measurements fall short.

The fine tuning and inaccuracy lies are within.

There is no going back to 'normal'....

It is a fantasy comfort for excusing my failure to engage.

It is so far from who I want to be.

Realising that I never want to be 'normal' again!

I can't replicate the former standard and call it 'living'!

The ordinary is now extraordinary;

This oxygen is a gift.

The food on our plates is an incredible blessing.

My family; my greatest treasures.

The paperwork is still in the folder.

The bills are still on the pegboard.

They can stay there ....!

If I will just 'go back once it's all over' then I am accepting that the engine was functioning exactly as it was designed.

Ignoring the truth of vibration indicators,

Veering slightly off course but not much to worry about!

I can get it fixed later!

If I keep building without rechecking, the wall will be crooked!

Avoiding reality, discomfort, correction, repair...

Deceived again.

It needs fixing right now!

In this moment that I am sitting in.

Not next week,

Not a new year's resolution.

It is time to engage today...!

To allow truth to expose my disconnect,

To accept the need for attention.

Pull out the plumbline.

Examine the faults.

The small things matter!

What am I aligned to?

What have I accepted as the standard to measure accuracy?

Am I positioned correctly?

What am I conveniently ignoring?

Honest inspection uncovers the sources of engine failure.

Recalibration straightens not the path but the forward motion.

The adjustment may be slight but the difference is immeasurable!
