FAKING IT: Plastic Living

I curiously touched the petals of the lunch table centre piece bouquet.

Instant disappointment!

Captivating from a distance, but another plastic, production-line, imitation deception.

The closer my view, a feel, a smell; the greater the disatisfaction.

Expectation meets reality!

No life, no growth, no fragrance or originality.

The beauty of vulnerable living exchanged for reusable display.

Cookie cutter leaves, neatly positioned along the stems beside shapely blooms arranged in delicate balanced clusters. Visually appealing yet too manufactured to be true.

Why the disappointment?

I'm so tired of plastic performance and counterfeit perfection.

Blindly passing each other by with no desire to see with open eyes. Accepting the fake because its risky to be real & look behind the manufactured pose.

So much effort for man-made copies. Exhibits that may retain their colour all year but gradually gather dust on the shelf. Never extending beyond the borders of a display cabinet - stagnent and stuck on the stage.

Authentic living is breathing, adapting, growing....struggling, wilting, recovering, reproducing....getting older...reaching upward and outward....thriving!

Why settle for anything less?
