OVERLOADED & OVERWHELMED: Fear Vs Wisdom

Updated: Jan 9, 2023

I often debate inside my head whether to write or not; aware of floodings of information, warnings, facts, debates, updates, figures, suggestions, divisions, and endless opinions....

Overflowing yet draining.

Helpful and hindering.

Physical boundaries to protect each other.

Mental boundaries needed to prevent overloading.

I have listened, watched and read.

The weight of responsibility for people I love and lead and those around us who I may never know or meet.

Conference calls, advice, meetings, suggestions, ideas, decisions.

Wisdom requires me to press into faith, hope, and love; Irrevocable things that remain beyond the visible, regardless of what envelops us.

Fear exposes my weaknesses; revealing my doubts, inadequacies, and insecurities.

Wisdom calls me to exercise self discipline; mercy, humility, and compassion.

Fear draws me into self centred reactions.

Framing my world my way.

Wisdom reminds me to pursue peace, to seek the needs of others before my own, to extend patience.

Fear judges, criticises, and points the finger.

Wisdom invokes kindness, gentleness and self control.

Fear steals joy, shrinks faith, destroys hope, oppresses the mind & dissolves perspective.

Wisdom tests my heart,

Exposes my motives,

Confirms my character,

Underlines my values

Waters my courage,

Focuses my mind,

Unlocks strength,

Defeats my reluctance,

Realigns my purpose,

Changes me from within.

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind."

2 Tim 1: 7
