Are you exhausted from the fight? Does it feel like nothing is changing?
"Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.”
2 Chronicles 20:17
There are TWO action commands. Here is a strategic plan issued to God's people - directly from the war room of heaven.

1) TAKE UP YOUR POSITIONS
Set and station yourself; this is an active movement and change of position. A readiness participation posture aligned with the plans of heaven; a position of humility, surrender, faith and courage. A response of obedience and faith.
It means to RISE UP. Change position. Upright and standing in who He is.
* NOTE: positions is plural. You are not positioned alone!
2) STAND FIRM AND SEE DELIVERANCE
Two verbs are connected to the posture change.
STAND FIRM; Establish yourself.
No sitting or leaning on this watch. Be ready, prepared, engaged.
Don't move around. Hold your ground.
Remain. Unmoved. Resilient. Still.
There is great strength in standing firm with others!
SEE: Look, be present, watch, give your attention and observe.
Deliverance will be clearly visible!
These movements are accompanied by a specific, direct address to fear and discouragement.
"Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
We all need deliverance from fear, unbelief, grief, discouragement, hopelessness, pain, sorrow, and heaviness of heart.
Is it an instruction?
A command?
A declaration?
A response?
A choice?
All of the above!

Activating Faith to Overrule Fear
Fear is where the enemy sits and rules. We have to dethrone it from our hearts and minds. Take authority and capture every thought to bring it under Christ's rulership.
"We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5

1) Move into position first!
2) Then don't be afraid or discouraged in that position!
Discouragement has no place when we move and stand in HIS position.
I have spent a lot of time thinking about thoughts and the way we think (which is a must for everyone... and especially if you parent teenagers!).
Research suggests we have approximately 60,000 thoughts per day, with 90-95% of these being repetitive. Other studies suggest 80% of our thoughts are negative.
We actually spend 90% of our time repeating thoughts, most of which are negative.
Only 5-10% are new thoughts!
Only 20% are positive!
No wonder the strategic plan of repositioning includes addressing fear.
Fear Disrupts Our Advancing
Fear and discouragement are responses attached to thoughts—a physical, emotional and mental response to real or perceived danger or threat.
Emotions actually last only 60-90 seconds, but we keep thinking about them and re-experience them over and over. It means we are often investing energy and power to a repetitive negative cycle more than allowing our minds to be renewed.
"Be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2
The thought and emotional repeat patterns hold us captive.
Position and perspective matter!
Transformation really takes place in mind realignment with heaven's agenda.
It seems the reposturing and action verbs were a preparation PRECEDING forward movement.
"Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you."
The repositioning was not permanent, but it was necessary to advance.
You cannot move out towards an enemy and face them if you doubt God's presence.
Your Eye Level Matters
How do you face your opponent eye to eye if you have not confidently risen, planted your feet, focused your vision, and trusted in the accompanying presence of the Most High?
The enemy can see fear in our eyes.
We have to look eyeball to eyeball boldly.
No flinching.

The word discouragement or dismay means 'to shatter' or be broken.
Fear shatters and breaks confidence. We hesitate to take a risk. We freeze or withdraw from the open door of opportunity. Our doubting, apprehensive, anxious eyes betray any physical position we adopt.
The repositioning is twofold: outward and internal!
DO NOT be shattered on the inside by the enemy force. That is the tactic to prevent you from breaking through.
Instead, GO OUT!
Move forward.
Advance...
Know who is with you.
It's a strategic war room battle plan game changer!
