PLANT THE FREEBIE: Faith to Multiply

While talking with a pioneering friend needing some breakthrough miracles this week, I kept thinking and seeing my packet of mustard seeds in my mind.

All through the conversation, that evening and the following morning, the seeds were in my mind and in my prayers.

"Father...what do you want to say?"

I ordered some herb seeds online (a new gardening trial and error venture) and the company sent me a 'freebie' of mustard seeds.

I feel like the Lord wants to underline that Faith (like a mustard seed) is a 'Freebie'! It is a gift. We mostly focus on the size or its potential based on the scriptural metaphor parable that Jesus shared (Matthew 17:20).

He actually addresses the size issue kindly but directly;

"Because you have so little faith,” He answered. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

While the size emphasis has an important lesson, the unseen and perhaps unknown power is in the mystery of the seed and the actual movement action of planting (which is our response act of faith.) Placing something so seemingly tiny in the soil is our movement action. There is an expectation of something larger being unlocked and emerging regardless of the size.

I think the Lord wants to say out of our current situations that the freebie power will be released. It is opened up in the act of planting. The seed cannot multiply from the packet. It only multiplies in the planting.

Faith also multiplies. There are no limits.

Nothing is impossible....that should be our living reality. Never for our own gain but always for the kingdom.

We (the body in the deep refining process ) are in a Jeremiah 1:10 'building and planting' season.

"See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”

We are appointed to BUILD and PLANT in this season; HIS kingdom ways in the immovable mountains which have long needed shifting. Mountains have brought discouragement, questions about the journey that led us to be before them, and situations that feel insurmountable with our limited knowledge and perspective.

Much is being uprooted and torn down for realignment. Space has been made for the new planting. For sure HE wants our lives, families, work, and ministries to be aligned with heaven ('as it is in heaven' is to be released and established here on earth by those who hear and also obey).

This is the new season. Hearing accompanied by movement action!

The mustard seeds were an unexpected freebie I didn't ask for!! BUT faith is a spiritual gift we CAN ask for. It is a verb; always accompanied by action for multiplication in us and through us.

Harvest is the result of faith planted in the right season. Multiplication always follows later after the one lone seed is placed in the ground and germinates. It grows, it produces and later even more seeds follow at the end of the growth or harvest season. How many more times is the increase of the one seed that was originally planted? (Matt 13:23)

It is time to plant whatever tiny seed is in your packet; even if it just fits on the end of your finger!

Impossible mountains are moved when you plant!
